Inquiries
-
The artist retains the right to refuse any commission without explanation.
-
If you would like to discuss a possible commission or have questions about where your commission currently stands in terms of progress, you must email me at breadnjamart@gmail.com or send me a private message on any platform I am present on.
-
Public comments, shouts, etc will not be answered when regarding commissions unless the option is given.
-
Quotes will not be given to inquiries without the proper form.
-
Payment + Refund Information
-
Payment is required before any work on your commission begins.
-
Payment will only be accepted via Invoice through PayPal. Money sent through Friends&Family or other means will be refunded unless discussed and agreed to by both parties.
-
-
A customer may be allowed to change their commission type after payment is made as long as the commission hasn’t progressed beyond the point they want to change it to.
-
If the customer would like to stop before their originally desired commission type (ie changing their mind from flats to lined) then a partial refund will be given for the difference between the two commission types.
-
If the customer would like to upgrade their commission to something larger than their original commission type (ie sketch to flats), another invoice will be sent to the commissioner and progress will stop until a second payment is made. Customer will be charged for the difference between the two commission types.
-
-
If a customer cancels their commission, they will receive a partial refund depending on how much progress has been completed on their commission.
-
95% of the commission price is refunded if the invoice has been paid but the customer backs out before work has been started. This is considered a convenience fee.
-
50% of the commission price is refunded if the customer backs out in the sketch or lineart phase of the commission.
-
0% of the commission price is refunded if the customer backs out during the colouring phase of the commission.
-
-
Split payments are available for commissions over $200.00.
-
In the case of split payments, the artist will not proceed with the commission beyond the stage in which it’s been paid. For example, if a customer commissions a reference sheet and pays half of the amount, the reference sheet will remain half-completed until the rest of the payment is made.
-
-
If a commissioner backs out, the artist retains the right to recycle or reuse the image for something else.
Commission Process
-
After emailing the artist with the appropriate form, the customer will receive a final quote depicting the finalized price of the commission they are requesting. After paying the artist via PayPal Invoice, the customer can typically expect a fast turnaround of 1-2 weeks for their commission. Large commissions may require more time.
-
If the customer would like WIPs to be provided it must be requested in this stage. Larger scale commissions (ie a commission with a lot of characters, intense perspective, background work, etc) will have WIPs provided throughout the process unless the artist is requested not to.
-
-
Due to the artist being a student during the week and having lessons on weekends, art progress will most likely occur during late evenings. However, do note that the artist does follow the GMT+8 timing.
-
Regardless of commission type, the customer will receive updates on their commission via email or private message. These updates will include when the piece is being started and when the sketch/lines/flats/shading are completed respectively.
-
Alterations are handled in a situational manner. Most minor alterations will gladly be done free-of-charge. However, larger or more complicated changes will require an additional fee appropriate for the alteration requested.
-
The customer will promptly be emailed or contacted via private message if any delays occur with their piece. This includes life problems, technical difficulties, or emergencies, among other things.
-
It is the customer’s responsibility to warn the artist of any deadlines (ie birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) concerning the piece. Tight deadlines may require a charge depending on how much time is given and how large of a commission it is.
-
If the artist is unable to finish the piece in the time given, a partial refund may be discussed. The amount would depend on how far the commission currently is.
-
Customer Conduct
-
The customer is expected to stay communicative during the commission process. Uncooperative behaviour will either result in an unsatisfactory result or the commission being cancelled by the artist.
-
Rude and/or abusive behaviour and harassment from the customer may result in cancellation.
-
Guilt-tripping, Blackmailing, Threatening, etc. will not be tolerated.
-
-
Customers are expected to act in a mature, professional manner.
-
Roleplaying with the artist will not be tolerated nor responded to.
-
-
If customers continue to behave poorly, they will be added to the artist’s blacklist, making them unable to commission the artist again.
Usage + Rights
-
The artist retains the right to display the piece on any platform, including but not limited to personal websites, online galleries or blogs.
-
The piece is not permitted for prints or any other physical media or commercial use unless given direct permission from the customer.
-
-
The artist retains full rights to the commissioned work. The customer may, however, purchase rights to print/distribute/advertise with an additional fee. This must be discussed with the artist beforehand.
-
The customer retains full rights to the character in the image.
-
The customer may use the piece publically as long as full credit is given to the artist.
-
Icons, wallpapers, profile themes, etc. are fine as long as the only edits made are cropping and/or resizing of the image.
-
The image may be reposted by the customer. However if proper credit is not given and is refused upon request, or if credit is falsely claimed by the customer, a takedown request will be filed along with further action if necessary.
-
-
WIPs are NOT to be posted. If desired, the customer may ask the artist for permission, but this must be done prior to posting. Again, full credit is required in these situations.
---
Upon agreeing to these Terms of Service, you may send an inquiry for your commission by sending me a message. I will then respond giving you a finalized quote for your commission and the process will continue from there. Please be as attentive to detail as you can, but don’t write a novel, either. By sending an inquiry you agree to these Terms of Service.
